Making a Smart Home

HOME TECHNOLOGY – MAKING A HOME SMART

Whether you’re planning a new build from the ground up or looking to add rooms to an existing property, the team at Infinite IT are on hand to help you make the correct decisions around Home Technology. The initial stages of a build are the most important time to consider your options, Home Technology installers fill the gaps between many systems within your property so when bringing in your kitchen fitters, heating engineers or even cabinet makers your tech needs to fit in too!

We see Technology missed in the initial stages of a build far too often and as a result the client normally has to make compromises on their tech rather than have a stand out installation. Only with a planned solution from our team of experienced technology professionals will you achieve the wow factor and benefit from a true Smart Home.

INITIAL CONSULTATION

At the initial consultation stage, we look to gain an understanding of how you use your home, we will ask plenty of questions about your lifestyle. We discuss the overall project budget and discuss features you have in mind as well as bringing to your attention what else could be achieved.

From this meeting, we can propose the correct type of system for your home and present you with a proposal including estimated costs. Once you’re happy to progress we ask for our design fee and get to work.

DESIGN

On receipt of the design fee, we will prepare a full system design, this will include floor plan layouts, cable schedule, cable legends & final costs including installation charges.

Once these documents are produced, we can then work alongside all your other project contractors to ensure the system fits in with the rest of the building, Once you are happy with the design we will ask you to sign it off and begin to plan for the installation phase.

INSTALLATION

Stage One: We work alongside our chosen electricians to ensure all cables are pulled to the correct locations, in the correct cable type, using the correct code of installation to be certain that everything goes as smoothly as possible. This stage of the installation will require two visits from our team, initially to discuss the job with the electrician then a return visit once they have confirmed the cable schedule is complete. At this point, we double-check on the cable schedule and sign off stage one with you

Stage Two: As soon as practically possible and preferably before walls are plastered, our specialist installers will start work on 2nd fix terminations and testing. At this stage your home is wired and our team will cover any terminations so they don’t get damaged and the rest of your build can continue. Our first fix labour will be billed at this stage and we work on a date for the 2nd fix.

Stage Three: we will contact your 3-4 weeks before the 2nd fix installation to arrange for the hardware deposit and order the equipment. All essential components are pre-configured and tested before being delivered to the site.

Stage Four: 2nd Fix of all network, video, audio, lighting, security, and control equipment will be completed at this stage where applicable and all onsite programming is built & tested.

Stage Five: Now the system is installed we hand the system over to you and provide our handover pack containing system documentation. At this stage our 2nd fix labour will be billed

That is not all though because a few weeks after hand over we arrange the last visit for a coffee and catch up to make sure all your requirements have been met and you are getting on well in your new home. If at this point, there are any programming tweaks or additional training needed we will only be happy to assist.

ONGOING SUPPORT

From here your home is all yours but some clients prefer to know we are always keeping an eye on things in the background or on hand when something is not quite going to plan. In these circumstances, we offer ongoing support either on an Ad Hock basis or retained.
